It’s July and summer time here in WNY and we are in ordinary times in the church season, but it is anything but ordinary times here at Bowmansville UMC!

I’m your new (yes NEW) pastor here at Bowmansville UMC but I am so looking forward to serving you folks & learning about all of you & your families here at Bowmansville UMC.

This is new position for me, though my service in the Lord's work has been my whole life. Yes, my hair is a little grey through years of wisdom earned!

I have learned and served in various administration levels throughout most of my life through working at Sweet Home C.S.D. (now retired after 38 years) and also for many years in my home church Middleport UMC, as well as other church positions as C.L.M. in various churches & District/Conference level of volunteerism.

Through these summer days to come I look forward to meeting all of you at church or maybe at the local coffee shop nearby.

In the neighborhood you will most likely see me & the family Basset Hound “Duncan” (the Do-Dee-Doe-Doe Dog) taking a walk around the block.

I know there are many groups & activities meeting at the church on a weekly basis so I look forward to getting to know a little more about them, and also the monthly church meetings & fellowship times that are scheduled.

On the pastoral desk you will find a desk name plate, it is not my name; it is a bible chapter, “Romans 12”!

I feel that “in a nutshell” that speaks to almost all we must do in life as Christians.

So I look forward to a few good Methodist Casserole suppers, and maybe even a general church supper (or a cookout) to get together to ask the new Pastor a few (lots) questions to get to know me better, maybe even my Good Wife Rev. Cheryl Brown will be there also! (Now that’s got you all thinking…)

In the name of the Trinity, Father, Son, & Holy Spirit bless each & all of you this summer!

Pastor Jim
