HAPPY NEW YEAR, BUMC!!!  I pray your new year will be filled with grace and peace, and a host of wonderful experiences. Selwyn and I are looking forward to seeing you all this summer in July and August when we get to WNY for our holiday visit with family and friends.  After a wonderful but very hectic performing schedule in 2015, particularly during December, we'll spend Christmas Day in Australia with our family there, then spend the New Year in New Zealand with Sel's family there. We will also take some relaxation time on our own in New Zealand before returning to Oz and our 2016 schedule, which is already shaping up to be busier than 2015!

I have really enjoyed writing this column for the last several years, and it has been my privilege and blessing to continue to share in the life of this congregation.  Sandy sends me an email copy of 'The Messenger' every month, which allows me to share in the activities and prayer life of the BUMC.   I will continue to pray for your concerns and provide the upkeep for Cliff's Memorial Gardens, both to beautify the grounds in his memory, and as a reminder of the beautiful soul he possessed and shared with us in life.  But after much reflection, I believe it is time for me to attend to changes in my own life, and no longer write a monthly column (some of you may actually be quite relieved--is that someone I can hear singing 'The Hallelujah Chorus'?).  However, I will still pass along periodic musings and information, so you won't be entirely rid of my ramblings.  So I leave you with the following, which I found to be of wonderful inspiration to me...

I saw this plaque during our travels last year, and wanted to share its message with all of you.  Whether thinking in terms of the church building or your private residence, this might be a worthy goal (New Year's resolution) for each of us to consider. It's entitled:  "In This House".

"In this house we do Real... we do Mistakes... we do I'm Sorry... we do Fun... we do Hugs... we do Second Chances... we do Happy... we do Forgiveness... we do Really Loud... we do Family... we do Love."

May God continue to Bless you, and please remember the world's children in your prayers.

Always,  Mary
