Welcome summer!  At least I hope that's what is happening in WNY...Our nightly world news program has been showing some very warm temperatures in NYC and DC, with occasional dips into more moderate temps, and I can only hope you are benefitting from the warmth of Summer.  By the time you read this, Sel and I will have embarked on our trip to see his daughter and her family in England, which will include some other European adventures before we arrive there.  It was just one of those rare series of events that enabled us to have such an extended holiday this year, and we are very grateful for this most blessed opportunity.  Having said that, we can't wait to return to WNY in the summer of 2016, for what we are planning to be a longer visit than last year's.  We are going to try to have 6-7 weeks with everyone in the WNY area, as this every-other-year schedule between Sel's family and mine makes us miss everyone so terribly in the interim year.

Otherwise, our health is good, and our music continues to be a great source of joy, with over 100 performances a year, which provide us with so many opportunities to hone and then share our God-given gifts.  I never cease to be touched by people's generous responses to us in saying we make a difference in their lives.  Often they are strangers to us, and I think this serves as a wonderful reminder of how we can touch lives, hearts and spirits, sometimes without even knowing what we are giving.  Each of us has the opportunity to let the love of God, which so fills us, shine the light of grace into the world...

Here, then, is the last grouping of thoughts that have touched my life...may they do as much for you and yours.

For July:

  • "Love is the only thing that can be divided without being diminished."    Anonymous
  • "One of the marks of mature Christians is that they have more interest in the Giver than His gifts."    Anonymous
  • "Anyone can carry his burden, however hard, until nightfall.  Anyone can do his work, however hard, for one day."    Robert Louis Stevenson
  • "Love seeks not limits but outlets."    Anonymous
  • ("Happiness is not a state to arrive at, but a manner of traveling."  Margaret Lee Runbeck) "...for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances."    Philippians 4:11
  • "Blessed is the influence of one true, loving human soul on another."    George Eliot
  • "For I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from His love.  Death can't, and life can't.  The angels won't, and all the powers of hell itself cannot keep God's love away..."     Romans 8:38
  • "I can see how it might be possible for a man to look down upon the earth and be an atheist, but I cannot conceive how he could look up into the heavens and say there is no God."    Abraham Lincoln
  • "I have held many things in my hands, and I have lost them all; but whatever I have placed in God's hands, that I still possess.   Martin Luther
  • "Character is what you are in the dark."    Dwight L. Moody
  • "Be still, and know that I am God..."    Psalm 46:10
  • "I know not what the future holds, but I know who holds the future."    Anonymous
  • (You never really leave a place you love.  Part of it you take with you, leaving a part of yourself behind.)  "May the Lord keep watch between you and me when we are away from each other."    Genesis 31:49
  • May these be strength when you falter, hope when you doubt, comfort when you weep, and joy when you feel blessed…

Always in Prayer With and For You, and please remember the children...Mary
