Estonia Mission

Good morning!

It has been three weeks of adjusting to new country. It is very different now than it was 15 years ago when I lived here. It is a very cell phone and Internet based life. Everything is done via computers or phone. Even our first grader child has to have a cell phone!

Kids go to Estonian school and kindergarten. They probably have it the hardest. We are working on getting Doug's living permit. It seems to be working in the right direction. Doug is making steady progress learning language. He gives it a couple of hours every day. I am impressed that he is not complaining about life here: things being smaller, not working as well or being the way he is used to. He is doing very well, but I think he misses his football games.

We just got the word that our shipment has arrived to the port. We are working on clearing customs. Praying also that the rain would stop so we can have some good moving days soon. Very excited about the prospect of sleeping on our beds again and having a car.

This weekend we are attending a church planting conference in Tallinn UMC. They are expecting about 300 people from all over Northern Europe to come for that and bishop is one of the main speakers.

I am getting our first newsletter update out soon, so expect to hear from us again soon, but I thought I share a few words!

     Greetings to everyone!

     Külli and the family.

Pastor Doug Childress, his wife,  Külli, and three sons were guests in our parsonage this summer.  They are presently assigned to Estonia on mission./D
